The Old Bakery is a separate cottage, within the grounds of Lustleigh Mills. It was built in Victorian times, in the 1860’s, to provide bread for the parish of Lustleigh, and has recently been restored and converted to provide one-bedroom accommodation suitable for two persons.
The kitchen is fully equipped with full-sized electric cooker, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave oven. It overlooks the garden and the river below. The bathroom contains a full-sized bath with power shower, washbasin, w.c. and heated towel rail.
The original Victorian bread ovens have been retained as a feature of the sitting room / dining room. There is a colour TV, video player and radio. The wood burner provides extra heating and runs radiators in the sitting room and bathroom. A most attractive open pine staircase leads from the dining area to the bedroom above the bread ovens. This a has a double bed, dressing table and hand basin. There is an electric storage heater.
The spacious accommodation is bright and warm, having central heating throughout, and furnished in high quality materials with some antiques. It has its own garden with picnic table and chairs, and guests are also welcome to use the large garden with seats and picnic tables beside the Wrey Brook.
All electricity, heating and hot water is included in the rental charge – there are no meters. All prices include all linen and towels.
The proprietors, Jan and Mike Rowe, who live on site, assure you of a warm welcome and will be happy to deal with your queries.
